You never know what you're going to find on the internet. I was searching for screenshots of games I worked on and I found someone has played through Robocop Vs Terminator, an NES game I wrote that was never released. It actually looks better than I remember it.

It wasn't good but I suspect that wasn't the only reason it wasn't released. It was finished a year or so after the Super Nintendo Entertainment System was out and so the demand for NES games was clearly drying up. Anything not major wouldn't have sold.

The guy playing through in these videos clearly has a controller with auto−fire. I guess that's probably the only way to complete it.

The funny thing is, I didn't like this game even while making it. Though I remember entirely re−hand entering the data for the main character 3 different times as the producer demanded the artists redo it, and I remember bits and pieces I had forgotten quite a bit of it until seeing these runs. It's not a game I remember personally playing. But it's still interesting to me I don't remember several of the enemies even though I had to hand enter their data, code them up and double check them.

It was a tiny team. Just me, a game designer and basically 1 artist. There were actually 3 artists but I think none of them were on it full time. I think only the game designer was excited about the game, maybe because it was his first game. The artists were clearly less than happy to have been put on it.

I also remember I got off on a bad start with the main artist. I'm not sure why but I also remember offering to personally buy her a better PC than she had but when I asked the producer if that was okay he said I couldn't do that because other artists at the company would get upset if she had better equipment than they did.

Well, there you have it. That game was TERMINATED 😛
