I was checking out the results from Assembly 2006 and I noticed they now have an game competition as in who created the best game. The #1 game this year was Frets On Fire and it’s pretty awesome.
It’s basically a simple Guitar Hero clone except instead of a special guitar controller you just you hold your keyboard like this
You hold the function keys while you *strum* the enter key.
The best part is the trash talking tutorial.
Give it a try, it’s pretty fun. The music is pretty decent and you can even create your own songs if you want. Better get it before someone demands they take it down.

Oh man, you just brought back some serious memories of my visit to Takeover back in 2001 (the final year!). The demo scene in Europe is fuckin’ awesome. Too bad the culture here ain’t conducive for a scene like that. But who knows, things are a changin’. Thanks for the Assembly reminder!
